CPAP and BiPAP Treatment Support
Positive airway pressure is an effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea, but comfort, mask fit, pressure tolerance and consistent use determine whether it works in daily life.

Types of PAP therapy
CPAP provides a fixed pressure, APAP adjusts within a prescribed range and bilevel PAP uses different inspiratory and expiratory pressures. The appropriate device and settings depend on diagnosis, testing, clinical needs and response.
Mask and leak
Interface style, cushion size, strap tension, mouth leak and sleep position can affect comfort and effectiveness.
Dryness and congestion
Humidification, mask choice, leak correction and evaluation of nasal symptoms may help.
Follow-up data
Usage, residual events, leak and symptoms can guide troubleshooting; device data do not replace clinical assessment.
Do not change prescribed pressure or stop therapy solely because symptoms improve without discussing the plan with the treating clinician.
