Insurance Plans and Self-Pay Options at W8MD
Plan participation depends on the office, provider, product and date of service. Call the appropriate W8MD office before relying on an online directory or an old insurance list.

Confirm before the visit
Ask whether the specific provider and office are in network, whether a referral is required, and what copay or deductible applies. At the Brooklyn office, Oxford, Healthfirst, MetroPlusHealth and UnitedHealthcare are generally not accepted as in-network plans; patients with applicable out-of-network benefits may still be able to use them. Otherwise, self-pay care may be available. Philadelphia participation must be verified separately.
How W8MD can help
W8MD integrates medical history, previous attempts, nutrition, sleep, weight-related conditions, patient preference, coverage and sustainable cost. A clinician can compare weight-loss medications, affordable GLP-1 options, traditional prescriptions and non-medication care.
Questions to ask before committing
- What is included in the quoted price, and what changes at a higher dose?
- Is the visit covered separately from the medication?
- What monitoring and side-effect support are included?
- What is the plan if coverage, availability or tolerance changes?
- How will nutrition, lean mass, sleep and maintenance be addressed?
