What a medical program may include

Clinical evaluation

Weight history, conditions, medications, blood pressure, laboratory information when indicated, sleep and treatment goals.

Medication comparison

GLP-1 or dual-incretin treatment, traditional prescription options and non-medication alternatives are compared individually.

Nutrition strategy

Protein, energy intake, hydration, meal structure, cultural preferences and preservation of lean mass are considered.

Medication is one part of treatment

Semaglutide, tirzepatide, phentermine, topiramate, Qsymia, Contrave, orlistat and other options differ in indications, effectiveness, side effects, contraindications, access and cost. A prescription is never guaranteed. The clinician determines whether a medication is appropriate and how it should be monitored.

Follow-up and maintenance

Follow-up reviews response, tolerance, vital signs when relevant, nutrition, activity, sleep and adherence. Plateaus are assessed rather than treated as automatic failure. Maintenance planning can include continued therapy, dose adjustment, transition or a non-medication strategy.
