Medical Meal Replacements
Meal replacements can simplify calorie and protein planning, but they work best as one component of a supervised plan with a transition to sustainable food choices.

Possible roles
A structured shake, bar, soup or entrée can replace a planned meal or snack, reduce decision burden and make intake more predictable. Product selection should consider protein, fiber, sodium, allergens, sweetness, texture and cost.
Transition matters
W8MD helps patients practice grocery shopping, portions, restaurant decisions and relapse planning so progress does not depend indefinitely on packaged products.
Safety and evidence
Meal replacements are not appropriate for everyone. Review pregnancy, eating disorders, food allergy, kidney or liver disease, diabetes medicines and other conditions. Do not combine multiple restrictive programs without supervision.
How W8MD can help
W8MD reviews the reason for treatment, health history, medications, allergies, diet, relevant laboratory information, route, formulation, evidence, alternatives and cost. The plan is individualized rather than based on a universal “cocktail.”
