Botox Cosmetic Consultation and Treatment
Botulinum toxin treatment can temporarily reduce selected facial expression lines when prescribed and administered by an appropriately qualified clinician.

What a consultation covers
The clinician reviews facial anatomy, goals, prior injections, medications, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, infection at planned injection sites, swallowing or breathing problems and neuromuscular conditions. Botulinum toxin products are not interchangeable unit for unit.
Expected course
Effect develops after treatment and is temporary. Timing, degree of change and duration vary by patient and treatment area.
Common concerns
Injection-site discomfort, bruising, headache, asymmetry, eyelid or brow droop and an unwanted cosmetic effect can occur.
Starting price
Botox starts from $10 per unit with a 20-unit minimum. The consultation determines the proposed number of units.
Boxed warning: FDA-approved botulinum toxin products carry a warning about possible spread of toxin effect. Seek immediate care for trouble swallowing, speaking or breathing; generalized weakness; or vision changes. W8MD uses treatment only after clinical evaluation. Read FDA safety information.
