Aesthetic Care After Weight Loss
After significant weight loss, some patients notice facial volume change, skin laxity, altered contours or cellulite more clearly. W8MD helps separate concerns that may suit non-surgical care from those needing specialist referral.

Start after weight and health are assessed
The pace of weight change, nutritional status, hydration, smoking, sun exposure, medications and weight stability can affect appearance and healing. Aesthetic treatment should not replace adequate nutrition or appropriate medical follow-up.
Facial concerns
Surface texture, expression lines and mild laxity may lead to discussion of facial treatment, RF microneedling or botulinum toxin.
Body concerns
Radiofrequency contouring may be considered for selected mild concerns but does not remove substantial excess skin.
When referral matters
Marked excess skin, functional symptoms, infection, wounds or surgical goals warrant evaluation by the appropriate specialist.
Coordinated planning
W8MD can coordinate the aesthetic discussion with medical weight management, nutrition and maintenance goals. The plan should prioritize health, realistic expectations and informed consent rather than rushing into a procedure during rapid weight change.
How W8MD can help
W8MD reviews goals, medical history, medications, prior procedures, treatment-area findings, likely benefit, risks, alternatives, expected downtime and cost before recommending care. Service and clinician availability may differ between offices.
