Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a new therapy that takes advantage of the unique growth factors and stem cell attracting properties found in our own blood component called platelets.
W8MD PRP-facialsPlatelet-rich plasma (PRP), is known as autologous conditioned plasma. PRP is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from whole blood, centrifuged to remove red blood cells.
As a concentrated source of blood plasma and autologous conditioned plasma, PRP contains several different growth factors and other cytokines.
How does PRP work?
The patient’s blood is collected and centrifuged at varying speeds until it separates into 3 layers: platelet poor plasma (PPP), PRP, and red blood cells.
PRP is prepared by taking blood from the person, and then putting it through two stages of centrifugation designed to separate PRP from platelet-poor plasma and red blood cells. This is usually done by the clinic offering the treatment, using commercially available kits and equipment.
PRP STEP 1
Blood drawn from patient
PRP STEP 2
Removal of PRP after double centrifugation
PRP Step 3
PRP is Injected into area of injury via ultrasound guidance.
What We Use?
At W8MD we use the most advanced and double spin technology from Pure PRP that gives the highest concentration of platelets in concentrations upwards of 1 million platelets per ml to maximize the benefit.
PRP therapyPURE PRP Benefits
There is a clear reason for the success of PurePRP® SupraPhysiologic. It has the perfect cellular composition at ideal concentrations. It is a clinical marvel that’s not duplicated anywhere.
PurePRP® SupraPhysiologic provides the most powerful concentration of deliverable regenerative cells, without the deleterious contaminants found in most PRP products. The system is a result of 20 years of bio-engineering research, strictly focused on isolating and harvesting the most powerful regenerative components of your blood and bone marrow, while leaving the unwanted substances behind.
